A Closer Look At Our Premium Brands Part 1: Inverters

Our brands guarantee long lasting quality and performance with some of the best warranties in the industry.  Depending on brand, most, or sometimes all of the solar components, including the roof mounts, automatically carry a warranty of 25 years at no extra cost. This means if a system component were to fail or not perform correctly, you are 100% covered. Let’s take a closer look at some of these brands and start with inverters. 

SolarEdge:

Jackson Solar uses Solar Edge Inverters in our home installations. SolarEdge was founded in 2006 and the first residential single phase inverter hit the market in 2010. In 2016, SolarEdge won the “Intersolar Innovation Award'' for the single phase inverter with HD-Wave technology, which is the inverter Jackson Solar uses on our homes.  Now, Solar Edge is installed in more than 130 countries worldwide. The kW is from 3 to 11.4 with a 99.9% weighted efficiency, which is 33-50% less losses than the market standard. There is also an upper limit of 155% oversizing allowed. Solar Edge inverters are maximizing inverters that optimize home energy flow production and storage all day and night.

Enphase:

Jackson Solar uses Enphase Microinverters as an option for solar customers. Enphase is great in very, very specific scenarios, but Jackson Solar prefers the advanced technology overall of SolarEdge over Enphase products.  Enphase products have split-phase power conversion capabilities, to convert DC to AC efficiently. These can operate in grid-tied or off-grid modes. The chip is constructed with advanced 55nm technology, fast digital logic and quick response times to change loads. These components alleviate contrast on battery sizing. There has been more than one million cumulative hours of power-on testing.
